Welcome to Ashley Academy, an independent school nestled in the heart of Johnson City, Tennessee. I am privileged to serve as Headmaster of this school, which has been in existence for 40 years and is the only non-denominational private school in the greater East Tennessee region.
We look forward to the upcoming 2020/2021 academic year in our new facility!! We have been hard at work making plans to create a safe and welcoming environment in which students can learn and thrive. These plans reflect current public health guidance and are subject to change based on updated guidelines. We will continue to proactively communicate any changes. One thing is certain, we will be ready for whatever may come. It's what Ashley Academy Griffins do - we face challenges with creativity and grit, leaning on adaptability and innovation. We are committed to building student success.
The environment at Ashley Academy combines the warmth and security of home with the educational facilities of a school. Classrooms are designed for open discussions and creative teaching styles. The campus is equipped with playgrounds that will cultivate friendships and allow a child’s independent spirit to flourish.
Our teacher-to-student ratio provides individual attention in a nurturing environment. Diversity is embraced and students are encouraged to think globally and to learn about cultures different from their own.
Ashley Academy is a school that emphasizes concern for each other. High academic standards are woven with high expectations of social responsibility and exemplary personal conduct. Our purpose in such expectations is for our students to develop a sense of honor and integrity that carries them throughout their lives. We want students to become self-motivated, inquisitive, and willing to persevere. Faculty and staff want them to learn, develop and contribute to society. We want Ashley Academy to serve as the foundation for an outstanding education and a meaningful life in which each student realizes his or her unique potential.
A guiding principle at Ashley Academy is for everyone to strive for excellence. Our teachers are positive role models through their example in the classroom and in the community. Our parents are active and engaged. Our students are courageous and willing to take risks because they know they are cared for and supported by each other as well as their teachers and parents.
I invite you to visit Ashley Academy, a premier independent school that develops scholars, innovators, and leaders.
